The Matrix - 1999 - Wachowski Brothers
- What message(s) do you think the Wachowski brothers were trying to convey and achieve through this film? Answer: I think a possible message that the Wachowski Bros. were trying to convey is no matter who you are, you could/can become very important. Or in other words, you can become better at whatever you do. For example, Neo is just a regular guy, although he hacks computers and such, he has a normal job and he has normal everyday problems. But we see that Neo eventually becomes ``The One`` in the movie.
- What were the key factors in Neo being able to defeat the Agents? Answer: Neo started to find the power inside of him and he focused solely on that. He put all other emotions and feelings aside and he applied his skills to defeat the Agents.
- What biblical parallels are there in ‘The Matrix’? Answer: For one, Neo is like a messiah or a prophet etc. He is the chosen one, even though he only finds out near the end of the movie.
- Within current western thought, there is a growing obsession with the importance of ‘positive thinking’. In ‘The Matrix’, Neo triumphs when he believes in himself. Is there any worth in ‘positive thinking’? Answer: There is definite worth in positive thinking, because positive thinking can uplift your spirits and it can get you really empowered. Positive thinking can also help you get things achieved. Rather than thinking negative, and being bummed out all the time, think positive and you will see that thinking positively is worth doing. Mentally and spiritually you can feel a lot better from thinking positively.
Sorry for the weird formatting, something is going all weird and I still have not figured out how to fix it.
